Solitude in a city of 11.5 million

I've had so many things swirling around, not a fog, not an eddy, not a cauldron, but something shaped like a cyclone. Layers, cycles, spirals, and so on and so forth.

  • Research project ideas are coming together, slowly. I need to dedicate more time to research and synthesis, though I think I know I want to focus on art and resistance.

  • Cross-cutting themes: mining, water, politics, conscience, narrative

  • Fall plans are daunting but I'm talking about them, which helps!

  • Reading a little every day is working better than even one month ago, and I'm close to caught up on my correspondence.

  • Fulbright/Pathways/Perú as "Plan A" for my dissertation project

  • Knitting together water projects as "Plan B" (XSP, RULA-IRES, Water Stories)

  • Pedagogy, indigenous knowledges, ...?

  • Social work? emotional geography? grief/loss/trauma? critical theory?

  • Relating with people at home and people here: finding conexiones chéveres con gente de Bogotá tanto como mis compañerxs.

  • Wrapping up spring, finding photos and time to integrate

Consciousness, consciousness, find the flow, the churn, the gut-wrench, the re-righting, floating, next leap.
